Program for International Student Assessment (PISA)
Launched in 2000, PISA is also an international student assessment system. PISA is managed by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). It is administered every three years to 15 year-old students to determine the level of knowledge they acquired, in reading literacy, mathematical literacy and scientific literacy, that they will need in adult life.
The findings of PISA shed light on the factors that influence the development of the skills at home and at school and examines how these factors interact and what the implications are for policy development.
As the sole accrediting national agency for carrying out PISA, the National Centre for Human Resource Development has administered the test in the years 2006, 2009, 2012, and 2015. And is looking forward to its initiating work in 2018, for the coming cycle.
